wasn't my idea, but we can definitely take people's temperature on it.

I was (and still am) a big fan of Sly removing that rule.

why?

why?
Difficult to explain until the season starts(undrafted players and what not) but I think it allows greater flexibility to draft the best players, not the players who cost the most or play the most minutes.

For the time being, I'll say that some starting PG's are extremely interchangeable, but drafting someone like Jamaal Tinsley/Jameer Nelson is extremely appealing.

Also, if we were drafting a "team" we would draft all 12 players, so no disrespect, but I don't understand your argument.

that you have to play who you draft

99% of the time, drafted players are better than undrafted. if you want to use an undrafted player for heavy minutes, it comes at the risk of that player not being of the caliber necessary in this league.

the outcome for which the rule was created - which is that owners can gain an advantage by focusing on commonly drafted players, because they're pretty certain the player they need won't get drafted - is not only not guaranteed to happen, because the player you need could always get drafted in a league with smart owners, but is also unlikely to happen even without the rule. how many players would you play for more than 1,700 minutes that didn't get drafted? i can't name them, but i also can't think of that many i would even want.

the one guy i want isn't that good. so, i think it's just an opportunity based on the draft system. we all hope certain bench guys won't get drafted. it shouldn't really matter how many minutes they play. if they're good enough, they'll get drafted, and if they're not, either they'll get drafted in the 6th, or they'll come with some sort of risk. it doesn't give any team an unfair advantage.

The reason the rule was created was because one owner was playing his starters 48 minutes for 3 games and then resting them for a game and starting scrubs. The rule was necessary to prevent that.

OK, I have an idea.

Rule: you may not start and play the same five players for 48 minutes in two consecutive games. Violation of this rule will result in a ban.

If someone wants to second and third this idea, I'll put it to a vote.

Pretty easy to play someone 47 minutes

lol, I always assumed we drafted starters.

23. jhsukow - Scottie Pippen, Julius Erving, Tom Boerwinkle, Serge Ibaka, Gerald Wallace, Charles Oakley

I only six picks here, but you completed the 6th round. maybe you have someone else's 6th too. well, I will proceed anyway since what you have now just shocked the crap out of me. Wallace in the 6th? good god, not to mention landing Oakley. I know you want to use his 90D season, but take a good look at his 6.9m season, the one with the 28%dreb and 3 dimes a game. this 6 man unit is the great experiment. serge and ibaka are teamed well, as is pippen and erving. Wallace lends support in many areas. curious to see who you land as your pg. need a touch of scoring there without having to worry about dimes. I love this team so much but am now gun-shy to commit to the dance for you just because I know so many teams can qualify. I think there will just be a game or two that separates winners from losers in this league. 1 game can make all the difference. but this unit is so well-oiled. I will commit to a decision even not knowing who your pg will be. you know what u'r doing. playoff prediction: YES!
Jason Williams was a great addition in the 6th. Not so good on D, but you've got that covered. Low TOs is a huge plus. Nice player. Underrated
