at some point, i realized that one of the best attributes a player can have, besides 30 DReb% and 80 D, is scoring over 2,000 points at whatever rate. it's so rare that it becomes that much more valuable in a format like this. despite his $11.6M price tag, Kareem is a bargain for what he brings to the table. yeah, that's a legit 35 PPG i'm getting.

then Deron was available, and it was a no-brainer. assist heavy guy + best scorer in the sim = better scoring. actually.....i wonder if Bill Walton might have done me more good, but i appreciate having a scorer as efficient as Deron. to pair him with a shooter like Kyle is exactly the kind of above-average backcourt i love to have. balance. Kareem shoots the 2's, Deron dishes, Kyle shoots the 3's. perfect role distribution. everybody knows what their job is. less turnovers that way, i bet.

i think we'll win some games. i feel like we're a lock for the playoffs. Brewer is one hella cheap $5.5M, with a squeaky clean game and 13.8 RP48, 100% at SF. he makes sure this squad stays defensive. works for me. besides, we're already pretty set in the eFG% department.

the other great thing about J. Brew is that he gives me the ability to trick out my bench. last season, my bench wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't as good as i thought it would be. this season, i should have one of the top starting fives in the league AND one of the top benches.

i'm stoked, but i've had so little success in this league. we'll see.

I don't know how well my team is going to do. The rebounding, defense is weak and the FT shooting is awful. I'm using the rest of my bench to focus on rebounding and a little more defense, but it is what it is for the most part.

But... this team is going to score points. When I got Shaq/Howard, I said to myself that leading the league in 3s with those two is a cool goal. I was kinda mad when Ryan Anderson went in the 5th after going undrafted last ODL, that would've been nice and Miller at SF is a pretty big drop IMO. So not sure if I'll lead the league in 3s, but I did what I could. After picking Shaq/Howard, probably the two best high volume pnt% scorers, I went and drafted guys with 33, 72, 44, 57, 51 per% (624 drafted threes). You can still go -3 inside, but there are guys to make you pay.

Should be some fun boxscores at the least, lol,

11. milest - Chris Paul, Bob McAdoo, Clyde Drexler, Larry Sanders, Kris Humphries, Nick Anderson, C. Maxwell

I will concede to miles about what he said about my eval last time, that nick Anderson is actually a better fit for his squad than a full time Drexler and that he doesn't lose too much as far as dimes go, and he saves money. saving money would've been a priority if he had in mind of drafting Maxwell, which he did, and thus bolsters his his team in both efficiency and scoring, even though Maxwell usg% hovers around 18 I think. but there are dimes, some 3.s and definitely more boards. this is a very good team with above average defense and clyde adds a nice pop off the bench at 1300 mins and 24usg% and 60+ - three's. there is a solid supporting cast for the paul-mcadoo show. sanders is a solid stay out of your way guy who has very nice reb%'s even though he is a part time player, as is Humphries. these two team up for some serious glass cleaning. starting Maxwell, nick, paul, mac and sanders combines for around 10.5 usage points with good efficiency, threes and boards. dimes are still a concern, but paul is so good, I don't see a real problem here. tough team. Gatorade strong. playoff prediction: Yes

10. benhoidal - K. Malone, Hassan Whiteside, Klay Thompson, Brent Barry, Mark Price, M. Williams, R. Evans
,
well, the great white will be swimming at the dance and taking bites out of all those team's legs. marvin Williams and reggie evans have distince, simple roles to perform, and ben needed some more boardmen on this team to be viable. evans is rodman like in his own way, and Williams if very efficient. good 6th round additions to already prolific scoring team. the mailman is gonna thrive here and can now focus on what he does best, producing 2000+ points in the paint and playing a little defense. price is gonna get, everyone the ball and barry will get price the ball. good balance. Hassan will be fun to watch on this team. in a strange way, this team is also built for him and is conducive to his game. what makes this predatory squad so special and lethal is the formidable inside out dynamic happening. i see no weaknesses. playoff prediction" Yes

9. dh555 - David Robinson, Kevin McHale, D. Marshall, Walt Frazier, Mark, Jackson, J. Henson, N. Mohammed

this is my favorite team in the league to win it all. Henson is a mirror image of mark Jackson, avg. defense, 27%ast and hits about 23-threes. saves money, continues with continuity and flow. love nazd mohammed. many good seasons to choose from and great reb%'s. another solid bench player. frazier will have a chance now to earn an odl ring. he gets to do what he does best, 3rd scorer, dime a little, board a little, defend the ooposing team's big scorer in the back court. he also allows the admiral and McHale room to operate. the symmetry in this group ,is excellent and seamless. very nice job this season dh. i will be shocked if you do not make it into the 3rd round at least. playoffs? yeah, baby

The reason the rule was created was because one owner was playing his starters 48 minutes for 3 games and then resting them for a game and starting scrubs. The rule was necessary to prevent that.
Actually, it was always a rule, so what that particular owner was doing was not only just poor sportsmanship, it was against a rule that had been in play forever.

I like the rule, personally. When it was brought up to remove it, I remember thinking how much I'd take advantage of it. I haven't really, but it can still easily be abused. I'd like it put back in next season.

I'll get my team in tonight. Had a crazy weekend.

16. ashamael - Charles Barkley, Steve Nash, Clifford Ray, Charlie Edge, B. Biyombo, George Hill, V. Carter

George Hill and Barkley as Batman and Spiderman, and Vinsanity as the Joker, assuming you're gonna go with that delicious 66def, 2200 min version of carter. this trio really packs a punch, and having nash dish to them all, not to mention his own offensive prowess, this squad is a juggernaut offensively. there's enough boards thrown into the mix as well with edge, biyombo (which version?) and Clifford ray. there's some def in the frontcourt. plenty of ash-like dimes on this squad. not an overabundance of them, but above average. not an overabundance of anything here, just everything above average, except def. I think what's gonna make this team hard to stop is if nash can be on the floor at the same time as carter to keep the offensive continuity continuing. otherwise, ash has to hunt down 26+ast% backup, but seems like money is a concern at this point. but George hill in the 6th round is sick, and was a great find. this is a very good team managed by a proven winner. I suspect ash will lose the first 2 or 3 games to start the season (as he usually does) while he is doing his roster depth tinkering, and then it's off to the races. playoff prediction: YES
re: Vinsanity - no, I'm using the 2093 minute version. The 2220 minute version takes too many shots away from Chuck & Nash. Still 53% efg%, double digit drb% & ast%, 60+ def & 95% effective at PG so those stats don't fall too badly when guarding Nash's man.

Biyombo is the 38% crb% version. He'll back up Ray. Using that fantastic 1267 minute version of Hill to back up Nash.

Ray - Barkley - Edge - Vince - Nash SL. 75%+ ast%, 95%+ drb%, 40%+ orb%. Chuck highest usage guy with 60% efg%. Nash only 0.2 behind Vince in usage with 61% efg%.

Defense is very meh: 61 - (56 - 85) - (66 - 35).

Lot of fouls & turnovers.

Salary was actually super easy; I only had three guys over 2k minutes.
