My current Fielding Coach has a Fielding IQ of 81 and a Patience Rating of 68. He's the second-highest rated "available" coach ahead of FA and is willing to re-sign for $750,000. The highest rated available coach has a Fielding IQ of 92 and a Patience Rating of 56.

I planned on spending about $4M for my Fielding Coach, hoping there would be a better selection. Is the $3.25M difference ($4M - $750,000) worth the upgrade in Fielding IQ from 81 to 92? And should the low Patience Rating scare me? I'd guess that ~95% of the players in my organization are 27 or younger.

I'd say it depends on how many good available FI there are. I've seen Fielding Instructors go for over $7 million. You may not be able to get the 92 rated guy, and could be stuck paying your $4 million to another coach who's not much better than the one you've got--or could be even a little worse.

Yea that's part of my internal debate. Do I keep the second-best coach for $750,000 or do I let him go and risk the possibility of getting stuck with someone who's worse? This Fielding Coach class is very thin.

If you have the 2nd best FI for 750k, there's no debate.

Yup. No brainer keep him. For me if he's in the top 1/3 I keep him and use the money elsewhere and no a 68 patience rating shouldn't scare you at all.
