ATH was Green to start, it is now Black..only moved 9 points. So what gives here?

I understand Green turning to Blue based on the amount left that a guy can gain, but the Green to Black is highly confusing.

Started at green and had 29 total points to grow.
Grew 9 now has 20 points left which is black.

Makes sense, I guess I got shafted this time around.

But...it should have turned blue before it turned black, which has been my experience so far in 3.0.

Are you sure you didn't miss it? My guys have all gone green-blue-black.

Not to be a dick but you didn't get shafted, you got exactly what was promised. Many, and probably a majority, of the greens are like 29-34 points of improvement, especially in speed, ath and blk.

Ye it should. I would guess he just didn't notice

Right, and Green is still better than Blue when recruiting. If he has been Blue the max would have been 28 not 29.

I recruited the guy hoping he'd hit 65+ given the start of 26 green. Still a great recruit, just frustrated comments. I didn't play enough beta to notice that the improvements for the majority were between that range for green.

That is only in certain areas though. Other areas (like PER and LP) have lots of growth potential. Others, like the ones mentioned by TJ and things like Defense seem to not go higher than 34 growth very often.

Yeah, I'll definitely make a note of that when it comes to further recruiting.

There was a great study done about a year ago which i didn't save, which looked at hundreds of recruits to see how much their Blue high-high categories actually gained. As hughes just mentioned, LP and PER had the most room for growth, in some cases 70 point gains over 4 years. Generally high-highs gained around 40 points at most, with an occasional player getting 50 or so.

I wish i could find that study or remember who ran the numbers to give him credit.
