Same player different salaries Topic

I have a question, and it may be answered somewhere buried in a pinned topic - I just don't want to search for it since I've been away from WIS Sports for nearly two years (needed a break).

Why does the same player, such as 1977 Dave Kingman, of where there are 4 combined versions with the Mets, Padres, Angels and Yankees, have a different salary for each team. It used to be adjusted with a different salary for AL vs. NL, which I kind of understood, but not really. Now, every version of that Kingman has a different salary.
Kingman, Dave 1977 New York Mets R 481 26 .221 439 .276 .444 32.57 70 $2,312,896 -- C-/D- -- D/D- -- C/D
12 Kingman, Dave 1977 San Diego Padres R 481 26 .221 439 .276 .444 32.57 70 $2,303,033 -- C-/D- -- D/D- -- C/D
13 Kingman, Dave 1977 New York Yankees R 481 26 .221 439 .276 .444 32.57 70 $2,287,579 -- C-/D- -- D/D- -- C/D
14 Kingman, Dave 1977 California Angels R 481 26 .221 439 .276 .444 32.57 70 $2,283,561 -- C-/D- -- D/D- -- C/D

Nl vs al was due to the league normalization, ie in the late 90's there was more overall offense in the al than the nl, so a batter normalized "better" in the nl, and could be worth more for the same season.

Now, there is salary adjustments based on usage rates. So if a version of kingman got used a few times more compared to "the average" player, and another version of him didn't get used, their salaries now get moved up or down to combat the usage rate....

.on a grander scale it is hopefully forcing people to not pick the same players over and over and over, and over again, as 89 hojo, and 08 joss salaries just keep going up

In the oldest version I have of the spreadsheet the mets and padres 77 Kingman costs $2316104 (each) and the yankees/angels version costs $2292550. However the two versions have different normalised stats, i.e., the expensive ones have 0.4368593 #SLG but the cheaper ones have 0.4324262 (the actual season SLG was 0.4441913).

The funny thing I'm seeing since the introduction of dynamic pricing is that a player who played on 2 different teams, in the same league and in the same season (i.e. all normalized and actual full season stats the same) will have two different prices based on usage. that should be fixed, but for now can be exploited.
