OFFICIAL® BUCKS THREAD 2017!!!! GM search bungled Topic

I've been wondering what the Bucks have been up to, kermy!!! Please bring us up to date.

I know I keep hoping they trade Monroe for Lou Williams.

All games to date have been covered.

so? what about off the court? is Miles Plumlee out partying every night? what has Thon Maker been making lately?
12/29/2016 3:47 PM
Thon is making 56% of his shots so far (though only one of three last night). He does not make many passes.

Miles Plumlee might be out partying every night, but who would notice? Or care?
12/29/2016 4:29 PM
probably whoever he is partying with, assuming anyone would be willing to party with a guy named Miles Plumlee.

Game 31: Minnesota hits 13 of 25 threes on the way to bludgeoning the Bucks 116-99.

Game 32: Rookie Malcolm Brogdon, making his second NBA start, records a triple double as the Bucks outscore the Bulls 36-20 in the fourth to cap a 116-100 victory.

Game 33: Henson hits the go-ahead shot late and the Bucks hold on to beat the visiting Thunder 98-94.

Game 34: Bucks rally in the fourth and Giannis hits a buzzer-beating 15-footer to give the Bucks a 105-104 win over the Knicks in New York. Rematch in Milwaukee Friday night.

Game 35: With a sweep of the home-and-home with New York in sight, the Bucks choke up a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter and lose going away, 116-111.

Game 36: With Giannis out due to illness, the Bucks start Teletovic and give 17 minutes to Jason Terry. Shockingly, they drop a 107-101 decision to the Wizards at home, outscored 33-21 in the third after taking a halftime lead.

Game 37: Mere days after handing the reeling Knicks a road win, the Bucks go down to San Antonio and beat the Spurs 109-107 despite getting only nine minutes (with a -15 +/-) from ailing Giannis. Beasley goes off for 28 points in 34 minutes and Brogdon hits a key shot at the end. When Ginobli's buzzer-beater hits the side of the backboard, the Bucks get the win (avenging a narrow loss to San Antonio in Milwaukee earlier this season).

Game 38: Bucks beat the Heat, outscoring Miami 27-14 from the free throw line in a 116-108 victory. Giannis returns to the lineup and scores 19 on 8-12 shooting.

Game 39: Bucks are rocked in the ATL, losing 111-98, their third loss to the Hawks this season with one matchup remaining.

Game 40: Bucks start with a 9-0 lead but fall back to .500 as they are pounded by Philly in a matinee at the Bradley Center.

Game 41: Bucks finish the first half of the season under .500 after a pasting by Houston. The trend is not good.

Bucks should make the playoffs this year. Hell they are basically a game behind Atlanta for 5th in the conference.
12/31/2016 11:17 AM
Game 42: Giannis is named an All Star starter, but the Bucks start the second half with a disinterested performance in Orlando, losing 112-96. Now two games under .500, with little prospect for getting back anytime soon.

Game 43: A team meeting after the Orlando loss and some lineup tweaks by Jason Kidd result in... a 109-97 loss in Miami. At least they cut their losing margin by four points. Yay Bucks!

Game 44: Bucks snap a five-game skid with a 127-114 beatdown of Houston. No triple double for Harden in this one!!! (he was one board short)

Game 45: Bucks follow an impressive win over Houston with a choke job in the final minutes against Philly, losing 114-109.

Game 46: The losing continues as the Raptors snap a 5-game skid to claim their seventh straight victory over the Bucks.

Game 47: Bucks take Boston to overtime before losing, 112-108. Jabari Parker has a pathetic 4-point performance, hitting two of 13 shots.

Game 48: Bucks lose for the 8 millionth consecutive time in Salt Lake City, falling 104-88 to the Jazz.

Big Bucks news!!! The team is reportedly trading C Miles Plumlee to Charlotte for Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes (presumably Steve Novak will be waived to make room for both acquired players). The Bucks probably do need a rim protector but it's hard to see how Hibbert fits in with Kidd's offensive "style". On the other hand, the Bucks paid Plumlee a ton of money because he was supposedly the perfect fit for Kidd's style and the guy hardly ever saw the floor.
2/2/2017 3:27 PM
does he have eyesight problems?
2/2/2017 6:38 PM
Game 49: Bucks show some signs of life, rallying from far down to get within a point, but lose 121-117 at Denver, their 10th loss in the last 11 games. We are in OFFICIAL TANK MODE!!!!!

Game 50: Bucks take a break from tank mode to wipe the floor with Phoenix, winning 137-112.

Game 51: Khris Middleton returns to the team after tearing his hammy in September, but Jabari hurts the left knee that he tore up his rookie year. He'll have an MRI today. Bucks drop another one, losing 106-88 to the Heat (who have now won 12 in a row).
2/9/2017 12:08 PM (edited)
Jabari has torn his left ACL again, will be out for a year or so.
2/9/2017 3:23 PM
Game 52: Thon Maker takes Jabari's spot in the starting lineup. The Bucks somehow give up 47 points in the first quarter to the Lakers, and lose 122-114.

That's about as low as it gets.
This team is loaded with talent, and should be much better.
Can't believe there aren't discussions about changing Coaches.
