Couple of things. The advice given was for new players. Unless those new players are some type of GD prodigies, then player quality, or lack of talent, will determine their teams success. Playing human opponents with a 2 year old team for a coach that is learning the game will only sabotage their team.

Also, Div 3 and Div 2, where they will be learning the game, is completely different than Div 1A. Two completely different games.

No flaws/loopholes. I was new once too..

I continue to be amused by the persistent myth that all the best coaches must be the best because they've found and exploited some loophole(s).

If one reads the suggestions from Wis itself from their help files, and one experiments a bit, you can learn this game rather quickly Without reading any of the stuff we coaches put in the forum. Nuances such as fine tuning your Practice Plans, Recruiting etc. will take a bit more experience.
But we are not talking understanding the inner workings of Einstein's Theory of Relativity(which states that if you sleep with your aunt, you might get mutant GD players because of the inbreeding).
The one thing they don't put in their help files which they should is the list of various replies from assistant and head coach scouting trips.
