Reports that the Packers will release WR Jordy Nelson and have agreed to a 3-year deal with TE Jimmy Graham. I'll miss Nelson if he's gone, but keeping him around at $10M or so would have been insane. I guess Graham can't work out any worse that Marty Bennett did last season.

Packers also agree to a one-year deal with Jets castoff Mo Wilkerson (DE), who will reunite with his former DC in Mike Pettine and try to prove to the league that he can still play.

Safety Morgan Burnett reportedly headed to Pittsburgh to sign a deal with the Steelers. Burnett had served as the "quarterback" of the Packer defense in recent years, but the team was thought to be unwilling to pay Burnett the $10M/year he was expected to fetch on the open market. Another hole in the backfield to fill.

Packers draft a punter and a long snapper. Yay. At least they didn't trade up for either.

After trading down to pick up a 2019 first rounder, they trade back up to draft a short CB who missed half the season.

Packers reportedly agree to huge contract extension for Aaron Rodgers ($100M guaranteed).

Feeling comfortable with the future of the franchise at that position, they send Brett Hundley to Seattle for a 2019 6th-rounder, seemingly cementing Kizer's spot as the #2 QB.

Look up "Classic Bears" in the dictionary and you'll find a link to last night's season opener.

OH YEAHHHH!!!!

Packers drop a division game in Detroit, with Mason Crosby missing 4 FGs and one XP. Rodgers lost two fumbles on strip sacks. Hard to watch.

Packers = still garbage. Playoff chances 3% after falling to 0-6 on the road last night. Enjoy your last five games, McCarthy!!

Playoff chances = 0% after home loss to the Cardinals. McCarthy fired.

Actually, there is still a non-zero chance of the playoffs, which requires four straight Packer wins and three losses by each of Minnesota and Seattle (plus one or two losses by a variety of other teams).

Not gonna happen.

The Green Bay Packers decided to part ways with top assistant coach Winston Moss on Tuesday, hours after Moss sent out a tweet many perceived to be critical of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the team's coaching staff.

Moss, who has been a linebackers coach for the Packers since 2006 and an associate head coach under Mike McCarthy since 2007, fired off an interesting tweet on Tuesday afternoon. In it, Moss seemingly declares that the Packers need to find a head coach who will hold Rodgers (and the rest of the team) to a championship standard.

Moss is probably right...as Holmgren lost some control over Favre at the end, McCarthy appears to have lost his ability to control Rodgers.
