Although, quite honestly, I have no doubt she had all the x and o to be successful in the men's game, I do wonder if alpha males, 18-22, would respond to a woman. Might be "Man, that ***** ain't telling me nothing I don't already know" going on.
more like men 40-60
Well, that's a gimme. But I also recall being 18-22. Virtually no one knew more than I already did. But I could respect someone who had been where I wanted to be. Not to be RACIST!!!!! but 60 y/o white women haven't exactly experienced the same things as 19 y/o black men.

I'd bet she shared more 'common life experiences' with young black men than Bob Knight, John Wooden, or Dean Smith ever could imagine.

Remember, only Michell Phifer could get through to those poor inner-city kids in "Dangerous Minds".

I don't want to derail the thread any more than it already has been but "common" is not the word I'd use. Without doubt, she faced obstacles to get where she was. Without doubt, young black men face societal obstacles. But playing basketball is not one of them. If you're 6'7" and can shoot, the powers that be will get you on the court. She had to do more to earn her spot.

Nonetheless, the teenagers of today are not taught to respect(general statement so don't bust my balls) people. So she'd have to earn it. As a 1st year men's coach, she'd likely be "That ***** that coached women" until she got her class in there.

Goldie Hawn coached those kids up in "Wildcats". That's so underrated as a motivational movie.

So we can agree that Thompson, Calhoun, Olson and Summit are all good choices?

haha, yes, I thought we were only arguing about whether a third party candidate could get on the ballot.

I guess we're ruling out Hawn. Sorry, Goldie, I tried.

Jimmy Boeheim once he retires in 2 seasons.

Is there talk of adding another world? With as empty as some of these others are?

Yeah, Boeheim will definitely be added to the list.
Has there ever been a period where so many HOF coaches retired in such a close period of time?

No, this is all just keyboard masturbation

Yeah, we're better off arguing about the same things over and over in a neverending loop.

Not from WIS, only on here. There is even suggestions of consolidating the worlds since a lot are very empty. I think this is a terrible idea. If they start closing worlds, take this as a very bad sign.

If they have intention to open a new world, it wouldn't be for awhile. They need to get 3.0 right first.

But after that, I think it's a good idea. I think what you would see are a ton of current coaches filling up that world in the blink of an eye. Perhaps as a scramble to get to D1 or just to get that very 1st season so you can be there from the start. I know I'd pick up another team just to get in first on the new world.

More radically, I think it'd be cool to have a 3x or 4x world. For those who aren't big on gameplanning and just want to focus on roster building and get through seasons quickly. Maybe wouldn't be executable but there might be a market for people who'd like that. I know I'd give it a shot.

I would like a 3x or 4x world, but you would need the ability to game plan for multiple games ahead of time and save each one individually.

Closing worlds may not be a bad idea.
