I have player who has been agreed upon to be traded to another team. Do I need to do arbitration or sign to long term deal before the trade can go through?

No, you do not.

But be aware, if the trade is still pending at the arb deadline, he will automatically be arb'd. Which may not be what your trading partner wants. So you and he should work out details about arb or long-term before the trade is proposed/accepted
