12 "team-seasons", which is what counts in this theme. His 1911 Braves and Giants each count as a "season".

In this instance Baseball Reference doesn't matter, because in this theme if a player plays for two teams in one season it counts as two seasons, while Baseball Reference counts it as one season.

The easiest way to determine the number of seasons for this theme is to choose season type "Full/Combined" in the search engine. The number of records returned is the number of seasons for the purpose of this theme.

I have a couple of questions. First, when do you have to pick the teammates? (Or, do they count towards your salary used to determine the draft order in the next round of the draft)?

Second, when making draft picks in a particular round: Do we all have to choose versions of the same player in the same round? (or, in round 3 e.g. can you choose a Rod Barejas season, and I choose a Doug Henry season)?

First question. You pick your teammates after all 11 rounds of the draft. They do not count towards the salary used to determine the draft order.

Second question: You do not need to choose versions of the same player. You can choose a Doug Henry while someone else chooses a Rod Barejas. And another person could also choose Doug Henry or someone else. As long as you haven' chosen a version of that player in a previous round that player is available to you.

One tip... when you are keeping track of your roster, during the draft... it's a good idea to plug in who you think you are going to use as the teammate. At some point in the middle of the draft, try to plug in who you think you will be drafting in future rounds and plug in those projected teammates as well. The $120M salary cap tends to get used up very quickly as you get "stuck" with high priced unusable players later in the draft. This forces you to downgrade some of your teammate options. This league is effectivley a $100-$105 million league (as each team will have a half dozen or more unusable/crappy players).

We'll go with Lou Gehrig

I'll take stalwart pitcher Kirby Higbe.
