SOUTHENDERS nuDE ALcoholics

Well the SOUTHENDERS fell off quite a bit but the nuDE ALcoholics are still holding the 250ish pace!! As of now both teams are in line to make the playoffs, SOUTHENDERS are leading their division M# 4, nA are tied for the division lead and also a 3 game lead in the WC race.

Went 6 straight games without a single + play.....At all-star break, pace fell to 216.....Team on pace to win 98.....Pretty happy with it for an OL team

nuDE ALcoholics finished with 239 +, 6 - (pitchers had 4+, 4-) so the 7 fielding positions totaled 235+ and only 2-

Ripken with 42+ plays! Outstanding.

115 errors for the nuDE ALcoholics is not a terrible number, either. Impressive

Craziest thing is that this team was from a draft league where players are exclusive, although once I decided to play at Mile High I really directed my attention to High average, great range players. There are a lot of different strategies used so I was able to grab a lot of guys who I really wanted. BONUS : they just made it to the World Series!!

My OL team just finished up the regular season, with "only" 206+ plays, they really let up for a while....but surprisingly, finished in 1st place, with a 96-66 record. For a team that I built just to win gold gloves, I'm pretty happy with that.

Our pitching led the league in ERA, in Kaufman stadium, so, I'd have to say all of the + plays must have helped out along the way, as my rotation of '35 Schumacher, '10 Oswalt, '11 Fister, and '38 Fitzsimmons are not your typical studs.

The real curiosity though, was the lack of help from '28 Taylor Douthit....a .979%, with 15+ and 0- plays in 162 in LF....which doesn't seem so bad, but I would have thought to get a couple (10-12 more ?) more + plays out of his 3.62 rrf....he was the only regular to not grab a gold glove for the team.

you had all right-handed starters, did the league have a high number of lefties and switch-hitters? would mean fewer balls hit to left field and more hit to right field...

It was an OL, so probably

238 in 144 games playing at Coors which is a 268 plus play pace. My pitchers are intentionally mediocre, so it would hard to imagine getting more plus plays without using fatigued or bad pitchers.
2/26/2017 11:07 PM
I finished with 267. Every regular except Douhit in LF got over 30 plus plays.
3/5/2017 7:26 PM
Well I'm going to call that one the RECORD for now zub, can you post a link to the team page? If anyone can beat 267 post it here and claim the title!!

Just tried a mega A+++ team. Drafted low-K pitchers all with A+++ range. Played in the Astrodome. Finished with "only" 209 plus plays. The team did go 90-72 in an open league, despite finishing 19th in runs scored and 4th in ERA (I drafted mediocre pitchers). Playoffs start tomorrow.
.
Edit - team lost in first round of playoffs.
