I will be most curious to see how this turns out. I have run this on several occasions myself to see which is the greatest team of all time. What I did in these tournaments for example is I took the World Series winning teams and then I added different wild-card teams each time to make up 128 teams. I have run this a dozen different times and the most consistent team has been the 1975 Reds. having won this tournament three of the 12 times and finishing in the top 10 on 3 other times. Another team that seems to do well is the 1986 Mets, and also the 2009 Yankees.

No, don't move it. I enjoyed reading these before. Looking forward to this one.
I also agree, am looking forward to seeing how this develops. Good use of the SIM engine!

1945 St. Louis Cardinals (95-59) vs 1997 Atlanta Braves (101-61)

1997 Braves win series 4 games to 3

Series MVP: Fred McGriff (.370, 2 HR, 8 RBI)

A great series that came down to the final game where the Braves ambushed Red Barrett for seven earned runs in less than two innings to get the win. The Braves shutout the Cardinals twice in games 4 and 5 with Greg Maddux pitching a gem in his only start. The Cardinals however bashed the Braves in three of their wins scoring 34 runs and embarrassing the touted Braves arms. It really was a fine series with many ups and downs.

1922 St. Louis Browns (93-61) vs 1948 New York Yankees (94-60)

1948 Yankees defeat 1922 Browns 4 games to 3
Series MVP: Yogi Berra (.375, 2 HR, 8 RBI)

A great series comes down to game seven and the bottom of the ninth. The Browns fought all the way back in the series after trailing three games to 1 and had a 7-2 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth with Urban Shocker, their ace on the mound. The Yankees rallied for six runs as Hub Pruett tried to close the door and later Bill Bayne allowed the winning hit to Yogi Berra. It was an epic collapse by the Browns, something one can hardly believe. Berra gets the MVP for his fine series inlcuding a 7 RBI game in a game three win. Joe DiMaggio hit four home runs while George Sisler hit .355 for the losers.

Series MVP: Jake Weimer (2-0, 16 IP, 5 K, 2.81 ERA)

Not often you see a 100 win team get swepted, but thats exactly what the 905 Cubs did. It was as expected dominant pitching for the Cubs fromn the get go as Baltimore scored 8 runs in four games. Jack Meimer won two of the four games but it was the game two performance by Ed Ruelbach that was magnificent at Memorial Stadium. Ruel pitched a one hit shutout not walking a single man in the win. 1993 Atlanta Braves (104-58) vs 1962 LA Dodgers (102-63)

1993 Atlanta Braves sweep 1962 LA Dodgers 4 games to zero
Series MVP: Fred McGriff (.533, 4 HR, 6 RBI)

It wasnt suppose to be so easy for the Braves but in the end it was as they take four straight from the Dodgers. The Dodgers didnt even get to Sandy Koufax who was slated to pitch game five but rather saw Don Drysdale lose two games and allow 14 earned runs. Game four was a great one with the Braves winning 10-9 inlcuding being helped by a Tom Glavine home run. Fred McGriff hit four homers in the four games including going 4-4 in the clincher. David Justice was just as lethal driving in 8 runs in the series on only 4 hits. This was suppose to be a much better series.

2004 New York Yankees (101-61) vs 1942 Brooklyn Dodgers (104-50)

1942 Brooklyn Dodgers defeat 2004 New York Yankees 4 games to 1
Series MVP; Dolph Camilli (9/18, .500, 1 HR, 9 RBI, 1 walk off hit)

The 42 Dodgers were one of the best teams in history not to win the pennant, and they showed that and alot more as they thoroughly beat the Yankees in five games. In fact the clinching game five at Yankee Stadium was downright embarassing as the visitors closed out the series with a 20-6 thrashing. Doph Camilli was one of the stars especially when he fueled a come from behind win in game two with a walk off single. Pete Reiser drove in 11 runs in the series while the Yankees batted .230 as a team.
