What an epic disappointment for my 2010 team. In control all year then a huge slump drops us from first place to 7 back. And then we go 1-4 to end the season, coughing up the best record for the decade to mildnhazy by one game.

It'd be interesting to do this again, with each partnership swapping decades, then comparing the results.

I'd do it.

The skunk/redwingscup partnership has all but locked up the Group Championship. Although we both have 5 teams in the World Series, in order for ozomatli and I to catch them, we'd have to win 4 more World Series than they do. And this will be especially tough to do since we play each other in ZERO World Series.

I wasn't planning on running this theme again, at least using the same rules. It would be too easy to simply copy successful rosters (even with the salary changes, you could get close). If I do something similar in the future, I might change the salary cap (i.e, lower it to $100M), or maybe change the years (eliminate deadball years).

A sad thing about these games is that there's really no way to run things a second time. You can repeat the rules, but you can't repeat the circumstances the games are played in.

I'll just chime in with a "Thanks schwarze" for not only the conception but great execution of this tournament. The ongoing charts and communication were noticed and appreciated. I haven't had this much fun in the SIM for some time (and it didn't hurt my enjoyment to ride along on skunk's back).

In Milwaukee for NCAA tournament, so won't update World Series results until tomorrow.

My teams went 0-4 in the World Series, losing 3 Game 7's a few hours ago, but redwingscup's 1900's team was victorious and it appears one of the schwarze/ozo teams lost, so that should clinch it for us, I think.

Yup. I went 2/2 but if schwarze didn't go 3/3 then you guys take the win.

Looks like schwarze went 1/3. You guys certainly put the pressure on with those 5 playoff teams. Nice finish. I'm disappointed all my teams lost but can't complain about the end result.

ozo and schwarze certainly made it far more interesting than I thought it would be. Congrats to both of them for taking this to the limit. Like I told skunk, I'd a bet a lot of money on his winning at least 1 of his 3 game 7s.

Now onto Round 2

Slainte was easily the unluckiest owner because he was 5th in terms of wins above average but had no playoff teams. With average playoff luck on his part, it would have been a 3-way race in the postseason.
