It really was a win-win deal. The Orioles get rid of one of their myriad back-end starting options and get a COF, which they desperately need, who gets on base, which they also badly need. The Mariners remove a blocker on their 3 or 4 MLB-ready or near-MLB-ready 20-something COFers and get an insurance starting option. Does make you wonder whether they have any confidence in Whalen and Yarbrough as Major League options in the rotation...
