Yes, AB and position do play a role. However, I think each spot in your order is worth about 15-20 AB over the course of a season. If you're best hitter is batting last because of his low DUR, you're costing yourself 110-150 AB from your best. I'll be shocked if anyone else is doing what you're doing.
The lowest hitter in the batting order gets a minimum of 486 PA's (3*162) in a season (probably closer to 530, maybe more?). A 60 DUR guy is still going to need rest if he was hitting 9th in the lineup. What's the difference between spreading those PA's across 162 games or 120 games?
Now if you're lowest DUR player is 80 and also happens to be your best hitter then yes, I'd shift more emphasis from DUR to OBP or OPS.
