Simple math:

162 games. Nine slots in the batting order. A purely even distribution would have each slot getting 18 more PA's per season than the one after it
Dude can't even spell "damage", math is way too hard for him.

If the president elect can't be bothered to fact check, why should anyone else?

OK, here's a data point. My Riley team had two players play 161 games each. The first guy was in the leadoff spot all season, 722 PAs. The second guy bounced between the five and seven spots, 623 PAs. In the ballpark with tec's math.

You can never go wrong with tecmath.

Yes, AB and position do play a role. However, I think each spot in your order is worth about 15-20 AB over the course of a season. If you're best hitter is batting last because of his low DUR, you're costing yourself 110-150 AB from your best. I'll be shocked if anyone else is doing what you're doing.
The lowest hitter in the batting order gets a minimum of 486 PA's (3*162) in a season (probably closer to 530, maybe more?). A 60 DUR guy is still going to need rest if he was hitting 9th in the lineup. What's the difference between spreading those PA's across 162 games or 120 games?

Now if you're lowest DUR player is 80 and also happens to be your best hitter then yes, I'd shift more emphasis from DUR to OBP or OPS.

I had no idea that ABs correlated to % - glad to know that.

Even with that in mind though, I just don't buy the "lineup construction is only worth 4 games" bit, at least as far as HBD is concerned. I follow a pretty standard process picking slots 1-5 in the lineup, then tinker with 6-8/9 throughout the season. I'm always operating under the assumption that I'll have to rest my players, which is why I prioritize filling my bench with role player FAs if I don't already have them.
