FWIW, I disagree with expanding D3 budget. I've been frustrated with the amount of recruits than I can actually scout in comparison to my D2 team, but I think that's kind of the point. I have more than enough money to scout my state and a few extras, as well as set some money on fire with some international recruits.

I'm hurt. Me and cubcub used to be tight.

Yes, the lower level schools are SUPPOSED to be restricted in scouting/recruiting. Fully agree you should be able to scout your state. 300 miles seems excessive for a D3 school. I've been doing 100m and, if I'm feeling froggy, 200m. I don't see a lot but, at W Conn St, that's probably how it should be. Want more scouting/recruiting money, move up to D2.

I waste more money at D3 level Scouting Guys that I hope will drop to me, or in other words I have made my ownself short of funds. If I can admit it, then I would hope more of you could as well. D3 is supposed to be restricted and motivate you to advance. Just my two cents worth.

you can scout 75 players to level 4 just off the 15k base budget if you are careful about how you spend your money. On my Grinnell team I have 3 openings at the D3 level and 97 guys scouted to level 4. In that same world, that would allow me to scout all the D2 players in ME, NH, VT, RI, CT, NJ, NY, PA to level 4.

I think there are some issues with D3, but I don't think size of scouting budgets is one of them. The biggest two issues for me:
1-I don't want to see the top 100 recruits. It adds clutter and actively changes the way D1 needs to be scouted as opposed to D2 or D3.
2-I don't want to see the guys who I have scouted in previous seasons but who didnt sign with any team

I think this is the key. I know I scouted at least a dozen, maybe more, to L3/L4 that I have ZERO chance of getting. That's over 4k of the 19k I had. Poor fund management.

In a way, I'm a little sorry about my first post. Here's the thing:

More more in D3 scouting means opening up more D1/D2 recruits not D3 recruits. So, given the ability to open up MORE low level D1, means D2/D3 will have MORE opportunities to sign low level D1. Which, as best I can tell, is the biggest problem HD has right now. So this request would only exacerbate to biggest HD problem.

That's how I should have worded my first post. This is an example of a "solution" having negative wide-ranging effect on other parts of the game.

I want to scout D3 to D1... if you don't need to scout d3, tell us and get rid of it.

Then you don't have to make a decision on who to scout. If we're not making decisions, what are we doing?

Disagree. First, Mike was right. Second, reopening old whines shouldn't be done with impunity.
