So a old conference mate of mine in Crum World in the Big East just secured his 400th Crum win, great accomplishment. Yeah, there was big celebration even though it was on the road at Bowling Green, but yeah, we ordered the cake, got some strippers, avoided the blow, but, you know, all harmless fun... and then, I'm thinking wow, it's been a good run for all of us in Crum and hopefully it's just beginning, and we're set to reminisce about some of our nuttiest moments in Crum World, which is of course the whackiest, kookiest HD World, Crum is, and it reminded me of an occurrence back in Season 66...
So, like, the craziest time in Crum, probably, was when my Albertus Magnus team hosted Daniel Webster, and someone had left 7 crates of bulky rolls, those soft rolls with the flour dusted on them, near the side exit, and cuz we're in New Haven and it's just right there on the water, Long Island Sound and all, of course a couple of seagulls found their way through an opening, and they just congregated on the steel joists up in the rafters, waiting their turn, then all at once 1, 2, then 8, 9 gulls start dive bombing the concession stand, grabbed a cheeseburger out of this 12-year-old kid's hands, took French fries from another patron that had a cane, sh-t they even ripped off a half dozen of those little ketchup packets that are tough to get open, freakin chaos, Daniel Webster coach was freakin in my face like it was my fault or something and then my second assistant, at that time it was like Julianne Hough, the dancer, talented kid, this would've been Season 66 or so, and Julianne decides to release our Albertus Magnus mascot, which is a falcon, so she took off the falcon's hood and holy crap that falcon made a bee line at those gulls and a mad scramble ensued, mayonnaise station jar tipped and rolled across the floor onto the court, freakin wives and grandfathers are screaming like nuts, holy cow, my wife was the calmest of all, she helped escort a group of girl scouts out to the back hallway to safety, man that falcon got rid of the seagulls quick but really at what cost, man, wow, like if I had to choose, like gun to my head and gotta choose one experience, yeah, that was probably the craziest thing that happened during my time at Albertus Magnus in Crum, you know, if I had to choose.
