Drafting a Pitcher for a Pitcher's Park (POR) Topic

So I've got the #1 pick in the draft next week, and it's fronted by a couple of nice 22 yo pitchers.

D ST C vL vR V GB 1 2 3 4 5 MU
Pitcher A 27 85 97 91 76 94 100 82 79 66 40 29 87
Pitcher B 25 71 97 71 77 94 67 87 84 87 87 33 99

P1 will get more innings and is better against lefties and should induce more groundballs
P2 might not get as many groundballs, but he has 4 plus pitches, and a better makeup.
P2 is also 7 points lower in overall, so I guess wouldn't be as easy to trade, but may cost less in future contracts.

I guess the main question is which is better suited to the pitcher's park, the guy with the nasty movement (which I would assume reduces contact in general), or the groundball machine?

Assuming P1 is a Leftie P2 is a rightie?

Also what is your scouting budget?

Personal preference I'd take guy 2. If those numbers are accurate, 4 pitches in the mid to high 80's is just nasty. The only thing that keeps drawing me back to the first guy is being in the 90's against lefties. If he's a leftie and guy 2 is a rightie I'd almost be more tempted to take the first one.

Either way, you are getting a great pitcher. I think its just preference, but if they hit those ratings, both are going to be very very good.

I wouldn't worry about GB in Portland. If VL is 20 difference and VR is 1, take the 20.

Pitcher A for me because of the elite vL and GB (only other elite skill either projects is Velocity which seems to be equal) as well as the double digit stamina difference ....

College Scouting budget is 16M.
And yes, P1 is left-handed, P2 is right-handed.

Yeah. Take P1. Most teams don't have a lot of guys with good VsL ratings, and the fact he is a 91 VsL he should do very well.

Love pitcher B. The 4 pitches in the 80's are deadly combined with vLvR in the 70's. However... the 16 mil scouting leads me to believe we are seeing inflated #'s and you aint gonna get what you're seeing. I would still take B though.. i dont like starting pitchers with less than 4 pitches. And Pitcher A could potentially only have 2 effective pitches.

Ok.. 3 pitches.. with 66.. but LOVE POTENTIAL of 4 pitches in the 80's. Good God

They both look like almost sure things... at that point, I'd be looking at which seems likelier to max growth. Tiebreakers like Makeup, Health, maybe even Patience to a minor degree. If the only difference between them is literally the vsL, Pitch values, and throwing hand, simply decide which you prefer.
