Please Help - New Player Topic

I’m new to Hoops Dynasty. Free Season. HD looks like a fun game but somewhat complicated. Would anyone be interested in mentoring me? I would greatly appreciate any help you are willing to give. I have no idea what I am doing. Please site mail me.

https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?ForumID=30&TopicID=495661&page=1#l_11006645 Mentor list here.
https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?topicID=495608 Read the guide
https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?topicID=477009 Mentor list originally and more specific (would perfer to go to this first)

I would exclude- casperthegm, CoachSpud , cubcub113 (Low DI and DII Team building and recruiting), rogelio from this list here https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?ForumID=30&TopicID=495661&page=1#l_11006645 All the other one's I don't know about, haven't seen on the forums, and are good to go.

The guide provided in that second link is the best one. You'll learn a lot about the game as you play through the process, but that guide is a great crash course. I'd be happy to answer any questions that I'm capable of answering, but I've only been playing a few months - my recommendation would be to reach out to Benis. Stick around for a few seasons, you'll like it.

feel free to site mail me any questions. There's a lot of other great help out there as well. Welcome!

I am not the most qualified person to answer your questions, I have only been around for about a year as opposed to like 10, but I would be glad to do so. Stick around it is a great game

Damn, why were you trying to give me advice on how to play earlier in the year?

There are plenty of far more qualified coaches than myself, but you can sitemail me questions you may have. I've been around for a good bit of time, so I can at least help with the basics.

There is nothing wrong with the coaches ward listed. I don't know them all real well but i do know rogelio is an excellent choice.

With some things there isn't ever enough advice.

Rogelio is great. I'm doing two guys right now so I probably can't take another. Here is my advice, don't listen to anything Wardo says. Check his career W-L record.

Yeah Rogelio is a good coach. He knows what he's doing.

And yeah like mbriese says - I'm happy to help. I'm traveling in Europe for about another week so I'm kind of in and out on internet access depending on where I am.

I think I'm going to do a few threads on tips for noobs. I generally get asked via sitemail the same type of questions so I think something like this could help a lot of folks. Maybe if I'm bored in the hotel sometime this week I'll give it a shot.

I cant take the responsibility of mentor, but post questions and I - and many others - will try to answer

enjoy! its hard at first, gets easier and then gets almost necessary as part of your day.

Yup... pretty much where I am now. My biggest piece of advice is don't give up after season 1... You will suck but you will get better.

Yeah. Just try to learn as much as possible at D3. The game does get harder and less forgiving as you go up in division, so if you can't win at D3, you'll have a harder time at D2, not an easier one. And prepare to lose for a bit while you learn. My first few seasons were rough, but I recruited a few good players and it just takes time to learn what is a good player, what works for gameplanning, etc. Just adjust your approach until you find success and you'll do well.

And when someone here tells you the players you recruited suck... we aren't trying to be mean... the players just really suck :)

so much of the game revolves around being able to find the right players... it's key to the game so while you lose make sure you figure out who and how to recruit them.
