I didn't get passed your third paragraph but what makes you think Trump is actually a populist? I know he used populist rhetoric, but nothing about him suggests he actually believes in it.

He's an (alleged) billionaire who inherited almost all of his wealth and who has an extensive history of corruption and exploitation. That's the opposite of populism.

Donald Trump is a lying con man who only cares about himself and his friends and family. He may say differently, but he has done nothing to convince me that I'm wrong.
