Thanks Bob. Initial drunj taeks...

Big10 - Minnesota with 7 looks survivable but still far behind premier BCS jobs. worst bcs jobs found here
Pac10 - all teams in play, maybe Air Force thing is a lack of interest in team
SEC - surprised by Georgia, curious if one coach built a bulldog dynasty to boost numbers
Big12 - texas am good location for the big 3 texas areas of houston, san antonio and dallas
ACC - boston college functions as the elite over fsu
Big East - Temple and Pitt should be much higher given recruiting area, but not as popular job choice. best bcs jobs found here
CUSA - Central Florida 6 titles lol Ebel owns! no other mid major more than 2. army/navy 3 combined.

I feel like in a world where there are no humans at Colorado and Colorado St. Airforce can be just as good as either of those school.

As a coach who has visited many a BCS job, a few thoughts:

- If Iowa / Iowa State are not filled, Minnesota is a top 3 BCS non-elite job. There is enough local talent exclusive to you that you venture out for one or two studs in most seasons.
- Schools like Indiana / Purdue require both bargain hunting and stubbornness. You can't automatically bow out of every elite competition or you'll never have any decent talent.
- The ACC can be a great ground for BCS feeders if it's not heavily populated. So many Va/NC/SC/GA schools, and there's plenty of recruits - if it's only half full, you can really gather talent at Wake / Duke / NC (which are out of 250 mi range of PSU / OSU)
- The northern Pac 10 is so at the mercy of recruit distribution. I don't think more than 2 of the Wash / Oregon schools can be successful at once, especially if the NoCal WAC schools are filled and jumping on mid-level recruits from that region. I think the Pac10 schools are the worst BCS gigs depending on population of those conferences.

This is surprising to me. I've always wanted to coach Georgia and view it as clearly a Top 5 non-elite job because of all the recruits around there, I know coaching at Tennessee it always seemed like I had to battle Georgia at a distance disadvantage for recruits.

Without actually ranking them, and having never coached at most of them, IMO the top non-elite jobs would be:
Georgia
Boston College
Temple
UConn
Rutgers
Auburn

Here are mine:
1 Boston College
2 Rutgers
3 Temple
4 California
5 Minnesota
I think Georgia would be in the next 5 and maybe #6

I agree with awags on the top 3. But then I think you can lump Cal, MInnesota, Georgia, Maryland, Pittsburgh, W. Virginia, UCLA, all in the same group, depending on how many other human coaches are around in your area. UCLA takes a bit of learning, but I've had good success there.
