Win requiremnent for D1? Topic

Is there a certain number of wins you gotta have to move up to D1? I tried applying for a D1 job and got denied because i wasn't qualified.

I think you need something like 85 to 90 wins for a mid-major team. More like 110 wins for a BCS school. Conference championships, making it deeper into the playoffs, etc. also help.

I had 76 wins when I got Houston in Wilk. But I had only lost to one simai team in 3 seasons at IAA Columbia so they let me in early

I've gotten into a midmajor at 70ish wins. 1 season there and I was able to bump up to a BCS.

Probably a dumb question but is the DII ---> DI jump possible without a pit stop in D1-A? If so, how many wins does that take?

No, you can't skip a level. You need to move up 1 step at a time.

But you can move after one season D1AA to D1 with a good enough record. I did it in Heisman years ago...
