Draft order and lottery pending recovery of league info from 1982. Waiting to get info from Admin (waited too long and the league expired from my front page)
What was the outcome of your 1982 replay?

I had a board game in the 80s called Statis-Pro Baseball, and I spent many many years replaying the entire 1982 NL season. I had some intriguing differences, but I also had only my own manual effort at restricting innings/ABs to close to RL usage. Also, I was not 12 different managers with unique styles.

But my curiosity is piqued. I'd love to know how the league went. Am also particularly interested in how Leon Durham performed for the Cubbies. He majorly overperformed for me, and I have loved him ever since for it.

Oh, and I'll very likely play, too. Sorry I missed '82, but I love the idea.
Glad to have you aboard! I'll add you to the private forum.

Awesome.

The Expos and Dodgers won my divisions, too. The Braves were for some reason just awful and never came close to competing for me. The NL East was tight with the Cards and Pirates most of the season, too, with the Expos going on a win streak the last two weeks to win by a game or two. It's been a while and many details escape me.

Durham outperformed reality here by quite a lot, too. For me, he was a Triple Crown threat and ended up hitting over .350. Had a 53-game hitting streak, too. At the pace it took me to play, that streak literally lasted for three years while I was in high school.

I am in a theme league here where you have 5 players each from 5 seasons, and '82 is one of mine. But I couldn't find a way to make Durham work, alas. I'll use him sometime. I have another theme team going where the '82 Dodgers form 80 percent of the roster, and we're doing pretty well. This all takes me way back. Good times.

Because I am among fellow stat geeks, I will share the most amazing stat from my replay. Despite all the variations that occurred, including the injuries and my own limitations, the difference between total actual runs scored in the 82 NL and in my replay was ...

1.

One.

Blows me away to this day. (So does the fact I kept all the stats on paper ... imagine those pre-PC days.)
