Fun question - I'm just curious.

In an average month, how many work hours would you estimate you lose due to doing HBD-related stuff while on the clock?

None. Despite my prodigious post count, this is "background noise". The work has to be done but I'm not "nose to the grindstone" for 10 hours a day. That said, during some extended discussions, I've found myself at my desk working later than I'd like to acknowledge.

Is 'all' an option? In winter its slow in the office so this kills my time and makes it look like I'm busy. Summer when we are in the field, I get to check at lunch break and thats all. Hate it when the offseason happens over spring/summer.

20-30 mins per day depending on how often I want to use the rest room.

This didn't get as many comments as I thought it would. I guess there's too many people afraid the boss is checking.
Most days for me it might be 20 to 30 minutes but there was a day a few weeks ago when work was slow and I spent like 3 to 4 hours doing amateur draft prep and proposed about 9 trades in my two worlds.

The definition of oversharing.

boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that's why I poop on company time

No time lost. I work until my work is done, not by the clock. If I take an hour for HBD or sim, I spend an hour later getting things done.

I check it about 5 minutes at a time probably 10 times a day Staring at numbers and taxes all day I need periodic mental breathers

You take a break from staring at numbers all day by . . . staring at more numbers?

Well these are numbers I actually understand and don't make my brain hurt. Plus there are pictures

"Plus there are pictures" made me laugh for way longer than it should have.

On an average day I might spend 15-20 mins on WIS, maybe more if it's uncharacteristically slow at work.

0. Cant access whatifsports or wisjournal on our Army network, and can't have cell phones in the building. But pretty much spend my entire lunch break on WIS.
3/25/2017 11:05 PM
Depends on what is going on. For regular season games I spend 10-15 minutes but during the busy offseason of budgeting, FAs, hiring coaches, and other stuff I may spend 45-60 minutes.
3/27/2017 9:21 PM
15-30 minutes probably but I am base plus commission so I have to stay until my work is done anyways. 5-10 minutes here or there ups my production as I can reset and look at my next work task with a clearer mind.
