Protecting New Players from Poor Trades Topic

Either way, ab went completely off the deepend, getting all self-righteous despite the fact he's hiding behind an obvious alias.

I am in this world and agree this particular trade was not a world killer. And ab is not exactly cordial (putting it nicely) in his opinions of how other owners go about their business. But a couple seasons ago we had an owner sign 2 SP for max contracts, then didn't log in for 2 weeks and they were released with that franchise now on the hook at 5 years for $19.7M a year for 2 very good SP that were then picked up by 2 other teams on waivers for league min for the next 5 years. As a world, we agreed said teams should send these 2 players back. 1 team "tried' without success and the other pretty much said F off. So, now this team (Seattle) is basically a revolving door for owners with $40M in dead money. Long story short, this is an extreme example of why a world needs to be protected, even though this wasn't a lopsided trade scenario, there is a ripple effect for everyone in the league. because now 2 owners now have the luxury of very good SP in their rotation at league minimum. So some of us are a little quicker to jump on what might be perceived as a bad trade.

Victor, who commented above, has destroyed our recently merged world. He lost the last world because he had so many bad trades his team was ridiculous. Three seasons, a few bad trades, mostly with a guy who is his friend, and the coach of Milwaukee, who is not trying to win, and we all think is either an alias or his friend. The guy traded him his best pitcher who had one year left on his contract, sent him the $$ to pay for him, for three players he immediately waived.

After reading the World Chat this morning, I decided to go and take a look at the trade in question. It was a fair deal. A low IP but decent quality RP for a middle of the road utility player. Neither are impact players (though the RP might provide more value with his limited IPs than the position player would provide. Nothing one sided about that, unless you focus on the OVR ratings. The position player was vastly overrated (and showing some signs of decline) while the pitcher was underrated due to low DUR/STA.
My thoughts exactly.

yeah, that's pretty much 100% the whole issue as a microcosmic perfect exhibit.
