Has ANYONE ever gotten a "very good" for strong defense?

I just finished the season ranked #2 in the country in FG% against and am only at "good"

Checked my whole contact list. Only "good" for me as well. On a secondary note I was "very bad" for perimeter offense and "very good" for paint offense.

So I'd love to know what the logic is for getting a very strong defense.

I'm currently getting it, one outlier game in. Last season I had it for about 4 games also. Once you start playing elite teams, "very good" is difficult to maintain.

I am VG on my chestnut team. 77 points per 100 possessions. Think the threshold is 80.

Probably should be based on defensive ratings, that would seem like the fairest way to do it. Take the top 8 players from each team, average it out. Then top 65 teams for D-1 would be at very good. Take next 65 put them at good etc and keep doing that way until you get all 324 teams.

A very good, top 5 ranked team, can play a strong schedule and only wind up as "good", where a good team from a weak conference can load up on playing against scrubs and end up with "very good".

I think that's ridiculous. That should be VERY GOOD.

Interesting. So if that's the case, should we assuming forcing turnovers plays an important part? And not just FG%?

All 3 of my teams are at "Good" and 2 of the 3 are in the top 25 in their respective worlds/divisions for both Opp FG% and TO/game. Too tired to calculate pts/possession tonight for them.

Missouri, St Louis is 83.1
Nebraska Wesleyan is 84.4
Emory is 86.5

So yup, makes sense they are Good.

How do you figure out points per possession?
3/19/2017 1:11 PM
points/((FGA-OR)+TO+(.475*FTA))
