can you still sign a player after recruiting ends? I have interest from the recruit but not enough to unlock a scholarship. After recruiting ends is the recruit gone?

No, you cannot sign a recruit without a scholarship offer.

However, if he does not sign with anyone else, he will play JUCO ball and will show up as a potential recruit next season with some residual interest in your program.

Although...he will most often play JUCO ball outside of your geographic area which means that he will be more expensive to scout and recruit next season as well!
