Welcome aboard gents! Two more Canadas, that division is now full!
Let's see who's up for the challenge of managing some of the other great hockey nations.

Lostnfound, no rush, the league is filling slowly, just take it easy, take care of yourself and God bless you for the operation on Monday.
Thank you Lemieux. The two cardio specialists and the anesthesiologist are all Christians.. so spiritually it means so much to be on the same page. C U soon

Thank you Lemieux. This whole thing has been quite the interesting test. The two cardio specialists and the anesthesiologist are all Bible believing Christians.. so spiritually it means so much to be on the same page. I am looking forward to April May and etc and told the Doc that in the late fall I was going to work out at the local boxing club for 3 months. LOL I will, too. Did it when I was in my younger years
As the Great Teacher said " Do not be anxious, do not be afraid, have faith." You have the right spirit lostnfound and boxing is a great work out. God speed!

I've added you in the USA team. And about where players are born, it's actually about nationality, Alex Smith is Canadian despite being born in the UK, same apply to other players, nationality is what matters. Rod Langway is American, Owen Nolan Canadian, Steve Thomas Canadian etc...
Brett Hull was born in Canada but played for the USA so he's chosen to be American as far as hockey is concerned.
And for players born in ex-Soviet countries, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania etc... They are all part of the Russian/Soviet team/division.
Anybody else has any question or doubts don't hesitate posting them.

Good luck with this. I'll take a couple of teams if this goes
Hey skipper, ( Now I feel like Gilligan...) Canada is full, Soviet and USA half-full, let me know which team(s) you'd like if you're still interested to join.

Probably going to regret it when this team gets pounded for a month and a half straight but, I'm going to show Czechoslovakia some love.

Hey y2j great to have you on board!
I'm really not sure what will happen with some of those teams, how good or bad can some be with the best of their countries. I've chosen a first team with the Soviets, and a second with Sweden, I'd almost be tempted to try out Czechoslovakia and Finland as well to be honest. I didn't go for Canada or the US because I knew they'd be the most popular picks and also these are the players I most know and use in other leagues.
Also the fact that we can pick players' partial seasons without possibilities of injuries opens things up a bit as I've noticed some pretty good partials from some of these European players.
Anyway, nice to see a first owner going with one of the "underdog" teams, best of luck!

Alright skipper, but judging by your record, you can also make a good team :)

And for you guys who are a bit reluctant to pick some of the Euro teams or as y2j put it "get pounded for a month and a half straight" bear in mind that whatever country/team you pick, you will play in a division with same teams. And as for the "Eastern" conference, you'll be playing mostly vs Czechoslovakia, Finland and Russia, all teams which I think are pretty evenly matched, more or less.
Add to this the fact that you can't just draft with unlimited cap, you'll find that 100mil cannot afford you all the best so it's still about selecting the right skills and numbers within that limit which obviously means that we all get the same ratio of skill per dollar. And I know what I'm talking about since I'm having a real hard time drafting for both my Soviet and Swedish teams. I can't just draft all the best seasons for all best players, there's definitely a strategic choice to make at every position.
Sure Canada and the USA have a larger selection of skills/numbers to chose from, but they still have to make the right choices within the cap.

So anyway, I'm happy to see that there is interest for this theme, started out a bit slow but we're already half full after only a week, that's faster then Open Leagues I think ;).
Maybe the time is right to send a ticket for league wide commish add.

Put me down for Sweden and Czechoslovakia.
