Meet Keith Arant, defensive specialist and low-post monster: http://www.whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=0&pid=3498235

Kid was a Sophomore when I took over at Abilene Christian and I had a log-jam of bigs. I wanted to get him on the floor, so I moved him to SF. It worked fine last season, when I had a ridiculous trio of post players, but this season, it didn't work quite as well (though he averaged 4 more points per game, I was hoping for more). My question is whether or not I can afford to play him at the 3 again. If I move him up to the 4, I only have one true SF on my roster, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but my third SG is a definite project and I'm definitely going to want to limit the minutes he plays. Alternatively, my other PFs don't have the necessary athleticism to play the 3. My question is, can I get away with Arant's lack of speed and BH at the 3 and take advantage of his low post ability, or is he better served at the 4?

True swing man to me! I hate to say it, but if he were on one of my squads I would be doing his game planning each night, and go strictly on a matchup basis. Some night the three and some nights the four. With his speed and LP he is a match up nightmare.

More work for you, but for your team I think you will see better results. And remember, that is opinion. Just as many of those out there, as people who post in the forums.

He's a PF for me. I don't think he's fast enough or a good enough ball handler to play the SF. He can probably backup there in a pinch. But I would also have to make sure I had a really good rebounding C to offset his low number there

This is *exactly* why I have requested a feature of "saved" depth charts -- so you can pre-set a few different depth charts and easily change between them from one game to the next. I have a feeling my request fell on deaf ears.... Although if more people submit tickets asking for it, maybe it'll happen! (Hint, hint. )
