what numbers do i enter to make 6, 7, .., 13, 14 yards be medium

Because it works for him. Short or long or medium is defined by you. You put in the numbers on the pages in the playbooks.

GT gave yout he answer, 6 and 15... short is 1 yard to your setting for medium... medium is that setting to your setting for long...

so if you want medium 5 and long 15, if you set it 6 and 15... short is now 1-5, medium is 6-14, and long is 15+

I have my offensive playbook distances set this way
Long 8
Medium 5
Short 1 (automatically set at 1).

If you mean in the expanded play by play though, where it says QB x threw the ball to player y at the z yard line, that is followed by a description of the length of the pass in parentheses. Example:

Espinosa throws to a covered Smith (Singh) at the SMSU 43 (Medium).

Through research, I have learned that a pass described as
Very Short is behind the line of scrimmage or at the line of scrimmage.
Short is 1-5 yards downfield
Medium is 6-14 yards downfield
Long is 15+ yards downfield
I am still trying to figure out where Long ends and Deep begins (I don't throw a lot of passes that distance).
