question: May i use anybody that shows up in baseball reference for the 1969 Cubs. Even a guy like Joe Niekro who does not have enough IP to be WIS qualified for that year? If I load the 1969 Cubs in WIS Niekro will not show up but he pitched a few innings that year for the Cubs. May I twist Niekro?

paulives, you cannot use Roy Mahaffey because he is, in fact, in the WIS database (not for the 1927 Pirates, who he didn't pitch many innings for, but seven times with other teams). The idea behind this theme is to find players who do not appear in the WIS database at all but who did play in MLB. You draft a roster made of 25 of their teammates (twisted to any season of their careers), then enter that team. After a schedule is generated, you will be allowed to call up one Way Above Average rookie who "represents" your ghost player -- the player who does not appear in the WIS database but who played in real life.

If you still want the 1927 Pirates, your ghost can be a batter named Herman Layne.
