Amazing to me that Pedro lasted til 18 this year after the MONSTER #'s he put up for me this current season (.95 WHIP....next best starter--1.26), and that Maddux consistently gets drafted before him. Nothing against Maddux or the people who pick him, but Pedro consistently puts up better #'s in this league. Of course, skunk is a newbie and can't see the history.

For me it's the 70+ more innings (those are at the "elite SP" level) and the constant goal of trying to limit HR's as much as possible but I agree with you that Pedro ALWAYS seems to put up better #'s

Exactly. I'll be using '94 Maddux and his 288 IP. I didn't even consider Pedro at all with that pick because of the HR/9 and limited IP (assuming use of the 2000 version). Maddux does exactly what I want, and Pedro didn't.

I'd prefer the sub 1.00 WHIP over 243 innings (that is how many IP he went for me this year...well over the actual 217) over a 1.30 WHIP at 300 IP. But thas just me I guess lol. The one thing taking Pedro does though is not allow you to use a 3 man rotation, which you might be able to get away with if you use Maddux. The 4 man worked out for me this time, with all 4 in the top 9 starters overall in WHIP. Doubt I will get that lucky in season six
