Ok. Here I think recruit generation has it wrong. ATH & DEF tend to be generated together (good at one is typically generated as good at the other). So, I don't distinguish.

I wish they would fix that. You look at Carmelo Anthony or James Harden and you see tremendous athletes that are just not interested in playing defense. My favorite recent quote being that Harden perpetually looks like someone that just walked in the room, but has forgotten what he was looking for, while on defense. There ought to be a lot more of those guys generated!

In Zone, DEFENSE is more important than ATH in determining if the opponents shot goes in and MAYBE is there a turnover.

ATH is more important in just about every other equation.

Soooo, if you are looking for a post player to stabilize your defense, choose DEF over ATH. If you are looking for anything else, go with ATH.
