Yeah, Lincecum especially has a similar career trajectory. Like Cain he was really good through his age 27 season, and then fell off a cliff.
But we know what happened with Lincecum. He was too small with a "violent" delivery. He messed up his hip so he wasn't rotating as much, and shortened his stride, which caused his fastball to lose velocity and became much more hittable. Was there an injury to Cain?

Tigers announce Andrew Romine will play all 9 positions on their regular season finale. Now watch WIS give him a .766 fielding percentage on all those positions

What's the deal with Jon Lester? I thought John Lackey was the only jerky Cub starter...
Lester = Grumpy Grandpa

Seemed like nothing but injuries for Bulldog Cain. They took their toll physically and were reflected in an understandable loss of confidence

Any idea when 2017 players are added?

Next salary update is scheduled for October 10th, so I assume they'd add the 2017 players at the same time.

do you think his hip could be rehabilitated...that was a great analysis.

Hope so, but I doubt it. He's 33 with a 88 MPH fastball. He only threw 93-94 during his Cy Young years, but it's a shame, I really liked Lincecum. I remember being in debates in middle school on who would you rather have, Verlander or Lincecum and we'd always have to have our Yankees fan, Gio, to be like the third/winning opinion. This was like 2010 I think.

i looked him up...first it was his knees and maybe that contributed to the hip issue...he did have hip surgery and rehab in 2015....he got a his fastball up to 92 mph.........maybe he will be better next season.

World Series prediction:

Indians over Dodgers in 7.

What say you?
10/2/2017 5:42 AM
Astros over Nats in 5. Verlander dominating like usual

Only one other person wants to go on record with a World Series prediction? Come on! Offer expires once the division series begin.

As for the AL wild card game last night, I was pretty excited when the Twins went up 3-0 in the first inning, knocking Yankee starter Luis Severino out after he'd recorded just one out. I was hoping to see Bartolo Colon pitch later in the playoffs, no doubt in a blowout loss if it happened at all, but still. Bartolo in the playoffs!

By the way, that was the 13th straight post-season loss for the Twins, tying them with the Red Sox for longest post-season losing streak ever. Ten of the Twins losses have been to the Yankees.

I'll go...

Indians over Nationals - in six games.

Last year was the Cubbies year - this year is the Tribe's...

Anyone know which franchise has gone the longest without a championship after Cleveland?

I guessed Astros, but I looked it up and was wrong. They're only the third thirstiest.
10/4/2017 5:33 PM
Nationals over Astros in 7. Nationals will be trailing by 3 runs in the top of the 9th. Two out and bases loaded, Harper comes to the plate and hits a grand slam. Astros can't get the tying run in the bottom of the 9th and the rest will be Nationals history !!!
