whats everyone's preferred method of distribution of points? Say you have 4 openings for 100 points which way to u divide them. I initially did the 25/4 method but have started trying an 80/20 approach. On the 80/20 I'll usually get enough to offer a schollie on the 80 with the next rd allowing me to do visits next then. I'll then rotate all my points to 80 on the initial 20 guy with my #3 now getting 20, then again do visits for my top 2 and just keep adjusting the 80/20 til I get my main 4 targets then adjust all points to my battles.

At D2/D3 I have been going with the 2-5 AP on as many guys as I like. My last cycle I spread 40 APs on 14 players and as the recruits got attention from schools I couldn't beat, I took the APs off them and then added to others. Around day 3, I start to focus AP's to unlock actions as needed.

Most people would probably prefer not to disclose this information for obvious reasons. Not being a jerk, just letting you know you probably won't get that many responses from this question.

I agree some may view it as a secretive but with the limits we have it's pretty easy to know how many points each team has so I don't know if there are any revolutionary strategies that would be competitive advantage. Just curious what others have tried to get the first few cycles started because obviously once you got your targets EVERY thing changes.

I like this method sometimes, especially at D2. But at D1, I will also use the method you describe if there is a guy I really want.

I usually just put 1 AP per recruit. So, anyone currently battling me for a recruit, feel free to lower your AP to 2 or 3, you will still beat me in the long run for that recruit.

At D1
Depends on teams likely to battle with me for a recruit.

5 star - expect an A- to A+ prestige team
4 star- B to A-
3 star- C+ to B+
2 star- C to B-
1 star and less- prepare for C- level team

Higher deficit between my prestige and theirs=higher AP to offset difference.

If it is close I will play it by ear.

My advantage I might mix it up.

At D2 and D3 I would spread it out more.

Just curious, is it possible for a D2 school to beat out a SIM D1 for a 2 or 3 star recruit?

Yes - I think that this should be fixed, because it is actually not hard to do

I don't think D2 should be able to recruit nor scout these players

They should get rid of all D1/D2/D3 designations, and let players fall to where they fall. Scoutable and recruitable by everybody.

But D1 recruiting efforts > D2 recruiting efforts > D3 recruiting efforts.

I think no designations would lead to new players massively overshooting and blowing their budgets instantly

So, we're back to protecting D1 again, eh? I've seen it called D1 welfare, what you're proposing. The game has a nice balance, with some recruits for everybody.

It gives location too much of an impact. And it gives D2 and D3 recruiting some sort of a waiting feel that looks like a boring time. First session is pretty much a waste of time. And waiting on the last day for D3 makes it a non-recruiting thing.
