The basic premise of this league is that you cannot have anyone on your team unless they played for your squad at some point in their career. This means that guys like Johnny Bench will never play for anyone but the Reds and Carl Yastrzemski will never play for anyone but the Red Sox. This does mean though that Carlton Fisk could play his entire career with the Red Sox or that Roger Clemens could play his entire career with the Yankees. We actually just had the World Champion Giants open up for 1969. The Giants pulled off the improbable Championship in 1968. The finished 82-80 and won the NL West by 2 games over the Reds. They knocked off the favored 98 win Cardinals in 5 games to make it to the World Series where they again pulled off the upset and beat the AL Champion Detroit Tigers who won 106 games in the regular season. The Giants will actually have the 8th Pick in the 1969 Draft. This is a 16 team league right now, though we may expand in the future. The Giants have Vida Blue, Dave Roberts and others available in the 1969 Draft so they could be contenders in the NL for some time.
