Small sample size

I get that. Mainly ****** about the most recent start giving up 3 HR in a span of 16 batters. I get the random bad luck (whatever you want to call it) thing, but 1 every 3 inning average feels far too disproportionate.

Were they LHHs? You'll probably get a lot of inconsistency from Santiago vs. LHH.

On the season
vs. LHH
HR/BB/K/AVG/OBP/SLG
5 6 30 .279 .316 .456

vs. RHH.
HR/BB/K/AVG/OBP/SLG
7 13 41 .290 .339 .438

Only 2 of the 7 I'm ******** about were lefties and 1 from the right side was inside the park. As Mike said, it's a small sample. But I don't like the cluster.

If he goes through a 2 or 3 game stretch of giving up nothing, he's basically on the same pace as last year. The bigger issue is he's getting hit a lot more. Did you weaken your defense or move to a hitter's park?

My Portland team in Riley World, past ten-plus seasons we've been top ten in fewest HRs allowed.

This season, first 30 games, we were giving up the most HRs. Same pitchers, same catcher defensive ratings. Since then things have stabilized, coming up on the all star break we're middle of the league now. It was a baaaaad run.

Nothing notably new. Still at PNC. New 3B: Albert Jimenez. But he fits there.
Definitely getting hit more but plenty of time left. Hope it's a fluke and this trend doesn't continue. He's still young so I was hoping for improvement which may still come.
