Former Burlington team (NL East)
Draft pick #2
Committed money: About 27 million
No real stars, pretty young, not a deep system. This team will need a committed patient owner to compete.
Former Baltimore franchise (AL East)
Draft pick #7
Committed money: About 29 million
Two seasons from being special if managed correctly. Farm system has pieces and all bad contracts will soon be off the books.
Former Montreal franchise (AL North)
Draft pick #13
Committed money: About 36 million
A number of star here. Walt Pedoria is a stud, 29 year old 3B with world class speed and no real weakness. Joey Acosta is getting a little older, but the former multiple time MVP still has terrific power and speed. Though listed at 1B, he could play RF or LF at an above average level. Recent #5 pick Jerry Green is a 22 year old do every 3B stuck behind all world Pedoria. He can play a world class RF or LF or could be dealt for just about anyone in the league. This could compete this season if that is you desire.
Former San Antonio franchise (AL South)
Draft Pick #14
Committed money: About 94 million
This team has a number of very talented players, but very little cap room. The construction of the team is very poor in my opinion. However, if you want a challenge here it is. There has been a number of decent picks, and as stated, the team is talented, but it would benefit from a patient owner.
Former Mexico City franchise (AL South)
Draft Pick #16
Committed money About 36 million
A generally well-run franchise. Good cap situation. The only real star is Alex Nieves, a do it all 3B. However, there playable talent everywhere. Not a long rebuild in my opinion.
