Round 1 Themes, 2017 Topic

You pick a ten year span. You pick 1, 2 or 3 years in that span to twist from, and players must be twisted to versions from the remaining years.

So if you took the 2006-15 Dodgers, and twisted '06 and '12, that means EVERYONE on your roster must be twisted from those two years, and the versions you roster must be from 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 or 2015. No one on your final roster can come from 2006 or 2012, though they must have played on one of those teams in real life.

And for the record, that theme is the bane of my existence right now. Every time I think I've found a perfect roster, I realize I've rostered someone from one of my twisted years, or from outside the 10 year span.

Bah, that's what I just said a couple of days ago.

Yeh, I know...I was just kidding about the twist..very difficult.

So many tempting possibilities coming up just short. Some cases where one HOFer ended their career on the team another HOFer began theirs on and since you can really only go 5 years in either direction from there, it makes you want to pull your hair out.

I had a lot of fun coming up with these. I think that league, in particular, makes you think about a common concept (twist leagues) in a new way. The standard go-tos are not necessary the best fits for that theme.

is it the average or the lowest player?

The highest. For example, even if all of your players except one have a range and fielding value of D-, but that one other guy has A+ range, then your salary cap would be 115M.

This one is tough because you can't go by the simple search anymore because the player may have a secondary (or tertiary) position with decent grades that screw up your whole roster.

When do we start plugging in our teams?
6/10/2017 7:47 AM
The league numbers won't be available for a number of weeks still. Need to get 96 people to sign up, then get all 96 to purchase their GC, then the owners rankings need to be calculated which determines which owners are in which leagues. Then the league commissioners need to be chosen, their teams need to be checked and they need to open the leagues. Only then can people start entering teams.

But nobody can really finalize their rosters until the salaries change.

In the 140M theme , does "everyone" have to meet the criteria?

The totals of all of your hitters must add up to the threshold.

So, between your 9 starting hitters and your bunch hitters, you must heave either 400 doubles, 150 triples, or 300 homeruns
