Freshman Year Blog:
- After one exhibition game Herbert improved 4 points. The other 71 players in my division improved 8, combined.
- Herbert finished with 91 points of improvement, even with a -7 WE hiccup.
-On the same day, Herbert's ATH turned from black to yellow at 82 and his LP turned from green to blue at 48. He should still be a pretty nice scorer.
?-Herbert is 100% a defensive and rebounding stud center.
-IQ at B- and B. Pretty crazy for a guy with 2.7 HS GPA.
-Pumped for Arreguin's improvement.
-4 of stamina, 4 of BH and 6 of passing. Hopefully his offseason isn't too bad.
-Went up from 6 WE to 8.
-C IQs are pretty nice for 6 WE and 2.8 HS GPA.
-I PUT WAY TOO MUCH FREAKING TIME INTO STUDY HALL!!! Whole team above 3.0 GPA.

The 6 WE players growth will barely be noticeable, and he will go negative in many areas.

Do you want some advice or do you got this?

I'm interested in seeing how this goes Cub. I've been paying more attention to WE the past few seasons myself but haven't had such a wide range of guys to compare yet.

One thing I've noticed is that overall growth during the first couple seasons seems to be pretty close to the WE rating. So a guy with 50 WE would grow in the neighborhood of 50 pts his freshman year, say +/- 10. Obviously it will depend on a lot of outside factors like PT and practice plans, but I'm finding it to be a pretty good ballpark.

For the low guy WE guy would you be willing to share:
  • His IQ improvement
  • Your practice minutes allocation for each skill

Lol, I misunderstood your question. I'll take any advice that makes this more user friendly.

I was originally offering advice on how to allocate practice minutes but on second thought it's probably better to see how you do it. I have documented my own experiments, different philosophies should be tested.

This thread is also valuable and has a 6 WE guy example:

I tried something similar this year with my D2 NJIT team. Brought in a guy with a 1 WE. Came in as a 520 overall:

He's green in defense, blocking, perimeter, ball handling, passing, stamina, and durability. Blue in speed, black in athleticism, rebounding, and FT, and red in low post. It was too much potential for me NOT to give it a shot. I redshirted him and he went up 8 this year lol. Hoping for a solid improvement once he plays next year.
