Who's the Boss Now? League - Season 10 Topic

MLB119105 - New Texas Rangers' manager in 2015, Jeff Banister, fell into a fairly common category of former MLB players who became managers. Banister, of course, is an interesting case as his entire big league career consisted of one at-bat - in fact, since he singled in that one plate appearance, he holds an unbreakable record of a career batting average of 1.000. But there are hundreds of other major league players including Banister who became managers either while they were still playing or after. There's a theme there...

Choose an MLB player who also served at some point in his career as a manager, then choose one post-1900 season for that person as a player and one as a manager. Draft a team of players who were either teammates of that player or played for him as manager in the seasons you chose, twisted to any season in their careers. $120MM cap. DH AL only, AAA, no waiver wire. Name your team incorporating your player/manager's last name. Stadium must be one of the home stadiums from either of the years that you choose.

Info that doesn't fit in the theme summary:

(1) No clones
(2) No trades
(3) Any combination of person/teams/years used will be unique to the league, and any future seasons. For example, if someone uses 1956 Tom Lasorda (player - KCA) and 1977 Tom Lasorda (manager - LAD), that combination can never be used again. However, 1956 Lasorda and 1975 Lasorda can. For partial seasons either for managers or players, both can be used - e.g. if someone uses 1975 Billy Martin (Rangers), 1975 Billy Martin (Yankees) would still be available.
(4) Twisted players' seasons from before 1900 (including your main player/manager) are allowed on rosters, but the two seasons you use to build your team must be after 1900. For example, if John McGraw is your guy, you can build your team from 1901 Baltimore (player) and 1921 NYG, but you can still use 1896 John McGraw on your roster.
(5) Your main player/manager must be on your roster - also twisted to any season in his career.
(6) Real-life player-managers are acceptable, but obviously you have to choose two different seasons for your player-manager - e.g. if Lou Boudreau is your guy, you can use player seasons for him between 1938 and 1952 and manager seasons between 1942 and 1960.
(7) You don't have to decide AL (DH) or NL (no DH) when you claim your team - but when you enter your team in the league, let the Commish (ssupfoo) know which league you want either in the forum or by sitemail. Only entering the league claims your spot in either league. If one league fills before the other, the only option will be what's left. First-come, first-served on AL vs. NL.

CLAIM YOUR PLAYERS IN THE FORUM! You must claim your player/manager in the forum. If you enter a team that uses a player that someone has already claimed in the forum, your team will be put back into the draft center. NOTE: Claiming a player in the forum only entitles you to that player - it doesn't necessarily entitle you to a spot in the league - that's first-come, first-served. As the league gets close to filling, make sure you get your team in so you don't get shut out.

There are LOTS of possibilities out there. Have fun!

I've never been very good at this theme, but what the hell.

Jeff Torborg will be my subject. We are going to go with the 1966 Los Angeles Dodgers (player), and in honor of the recent passing of Bobby Bonilla day, the historically overpaid 1992 New York Mets (manager).

I would like to be in the NL please.
