My buddy actually has it estimated at 7.6...the highest of all the seasons

estimated you say?

Well you can continue to be a chooch or we can have a discussion, I don't mind.

My friend has put a lot more research and work into this than you may think...I trust his estimated numbers a lot better than WIS'. I'd much rather see Bill Russell at a 110 DEF rating as opposed to a 70.

What do you think are solid/correct numbers for Russell's BPG and/or DEF ratings?

And Bill Russell, who led the league in def win shares 10 straight seasons...by a huge margin...is still a 70.
I've been complaining about this for years

The All-Defensive teams were literally just announced a couple of hours ago... so hopefully they'll release them by the end of the week. They may have forgotten about doing it though.

Just so hard to believe that they've held up this release for two months for 15 players to have their D ratings slightly adjusted. Would have been far preferable if they'd simply released the whole batch of players and then never adjusted for the All-D teams. Like somebody posted earlier in this thread, this had been one of the most anticipated statistical seasons in NBA history, and now all the fizz is gone.

Right, why not just cook the defensive rating stat on basketball reference to fit your game and call it a day?

I've always thought that WiS' estimations of Russell and his defense were a head-scratcher.

I'm ok with estimating Russell's BPG around 8, but not a defensive rating above 100.
