Serious question: How many employees work for this company? I don't understand how they prioritize their time and what exactly they do on a daily basis. It seems like there aren't updates or patches on any of their sports leagues for months if not years at a time. If you work for this website, what does your daily routine look like and how little work on the site does it actually involve.

Another thing, why wait until the All-Defense teams to release the entire batch of probably 400+ player seasons when that will only affect 10 players? I'm genuinely curious how that would save money, not that I don't believe the owner who mentioned that.
It's not about how many work for them, it's about how many work on the NBA sim - to which the answer is probably one guy, for about ten minutes, once a year. I don't play the baseball side of this, but apparently they aren't getting shorted on the love. We just aren't the cash cow that they are. The squeaky wheel doesn't always get the grease first, sometimes it just gets the shaft.
I don't play the basketball SIM but I do pay attention to updates across other areas of the site to keep up with what changes WIS is actually making. While SimLeague Baseball last year had a dynamic salary feature added that adjusts player salaries every 4 months based on usage, it was the first impactful update of any kind since 2009. We get the new players released each year after the season ends, but that's pretty much it. There was a major overhaul/redesign planned for 2012 that had a discussion thread opened by admin and everything. The discussion thread still exists on the forums, but we're still waiting for that 2012 update five years later...no love in SLB, either, unfortunately.

maybe they weight steal/block %s differently by position? like a PG w more than 1% blk is like a C with more than 4%? or a C with close to 2% stl is like a PG w close to 4% stl?

but somehow 15-16 Drummond with 2/2 stl/blk % and IRL drting of 98 is a 52? that's bothersome
I don't disagree with you. But he has over 5% stl%. Find me a guy with over 4% stl% that has a low DR in the sim.
not questioning your Lin assertion - just making a general observation

meanwhile Lin, Allen, Scurry are the only +4 stl% that are 100 D and they all have 1.8+% blk and Wade has just 2 % stl but his 1.8-2+% block seaons are all 100 too (and his next highest D season is 93 w 'only' 1.4 blk%) which suggests that maybe there is a basement block % to get that 100 rating
so maybe this is .4 block% from a 100 rating

I forgot, what's the reasoning that WIS doesn't use basketball reference's defensive rating or defensive win shares? Or at least cook one of those numbers/ratings to fit into their system/format? It just seems very bull-headed to not use the available information...I know it's WIS but still.

Yes they weight stl% and blk% differently per position. But pg/sg with relatively high blk% tend to have 90 or above D. But the same for stl% for pf/c tend to have a lesser effect. SF is looked more of a pg/sg than a pf/c. I haven't looked into this but my guess is SF tend to have higher D than the rest of the positions. But with all that said still have no idea why Karl Anthony Towns had a crappy D

6/22/2017 7:25 AM
despite 4% blocks towns has a relatively meh irl drating 106 and his stil % is just 1 - Drummond to me is the real head scratcher

Every year, prior to the release of the new players- owners b1tch and moan about how WIS sucks and how long it will take them to release the players- if at all----- and EVERY year, WIS releases the players in a timely matter after the season is over....... You just can't please these people.... No matter what

sarcasm? The season ended 2 months ago.
6/22/2017 7:04 PM
And you obviously weren't here for the year they didn't release the players till almost the next season started...

And they haven't even answered my ticket... it's been 10 days. That is the poorest excuse for customer service I think I've ever encountered.
6/22/2017 7:06 PM
The last two seasons they have spoiled us by releasing them two days after the season. I'm still hoping that they will be released two days after the awards show, but not holding my breath.

I just assumed it was sarcasm - it had to be, right? because the fact is there hasn't even been an official announcement regarding any of this
6/22/2017 8:17 PM
I think if they actually made an official announcement on the release and stated a specific date for the release, most of us would be fine with that. That's assuming of course that they stuck to said date. But all we got was one backdoor ticket response stating "sometime after the Finals", which could mean anything. The silence and total lack of professional customer service is what really grinds our gears.
6/22/2017 8:23 PM
Am I allowed to get impatient now?
6/23/2017 10:25 AM
2 days after the awards show seems like a good time to start getting angry

honestly ill be happy as long as they release them before the start of the odl draft...i need those 10 mpg of embiid to back up hakeem
