NBA players are delusional. First LeBron and now KD saying they aren't playing on super teams.

didn't we Warriors **** and moan about Klay not being named the 4th all NBA teamer on their squad? #squadgoals

uh, what does that have to do with it?

so you're not familiar with the concept of hypocrisy? because either we've got 4 all NBA dudes on our squad (which historically I don't think has ever happened before) or were not a 'super team' but it's not both

I can see their points kind of.

Looking back, the top teams were loaded with 3 all time great players usually. Maybe not all in their prime. There are exceptions of course.

The Warriors are as close as anyone could be to a super team partially because they have a big 4 and all 4 are early in their prime. They had 3 guys average over 20 a game and then a triple double threat to boot. Their advanced stats are ridiculous.
But really are they better than the top teams of the 80s and 90s?

The current Cavs would get beat by all the top teams of the 80s and most of the 90s.

80s - maybe, depends on whose rules we're playing with - for instance let Coop get 80s physical with Steph and Steph's cooked but make Coop defend Steph under today's bylaws and Coop is soon sitting w foul trouble - similarly make the Warriors defend Cap or Big Game on the post 80s honest and they're serving up 30+ point games but let the Warriors zone the paint like they can today? different story

90s - aside from Mike and co who are we talking about? (anyway same stuff applies re rules)

90s Bulls and maybe Shaqs Magic. 80s Celtics and Sixers would be tough too. Like you say depends on whose rules...

It works both ways. Good luck guarding Kareem, Worthy, or Magic by today's rules. Or Bird. Or McHale LOL! Or Jordan, Barkley, Hakeem, etc. As I said, it works both ways.

The 80s Lakers & Celtics, depending on which specific year you're talking about, had 5 hall of famers on them with at least 3 in their prime (Kareem's prime being longer than most players' careers). The Warriors aren't doing something new.
