The Finale
Those who have been in recent leagues with me are aware that this will be my final league. After almost 14 years of being on WIS and the past several years filled with total frustration, it is time to call it quits. This league is by INVITATION ONLY, unless I am not able to fill it with invitees. Over the years so many supported me and joined my leagues and I have made many friends on this site. All Sapheads obviously will be getting invites, but the remainder of the league will be filled by those I have enjoyed playing against over the years and who supported me. Actually they are too few to mention and if you do not get an invite, please do not treat it as a slight on my part. There are just 22 spots to fill.

This ad will only be for those who participate to keep track of what division they are in and who else has joined. PLEASE do not submit a choice of your own. All 22 of the invitees have received sitemails and their choices will appear here. I will enter my last 2 teams.

Since a few of the invitees have not been around for a while, it is possible that they may not get/see the invitation. I will wait until Sunday night, and if no response I will replace them with someone else.

I really don't think you can Cherry pick your owners, being that leagues often take a month to fill. Good luck with it, though

I've asked this of other owners who "retire" from WIS and never really got a good answer, why "retire" from something fun like this that is just a passtime or a hobby? Why not just cut back or take a break for a while?

Buster: That is an option, I agree and nothing says if changes do occur that I may be drawn back into WIS. But after 14 years, I, like so many of the others who were members back in the formative years of WIS, have just decided to call it quits. It is no longer "fun" unfortunately.

As for the other comment, the ONLY reason this has not filled as yet is because there are a handful of owners I contacted who actually are not in WIS anymore. I was hoping, and still hope they might see the notification of the sitemail in their emails and check it out. Besides, my leagues always fill a lot faster than a month. I still hold the record for a league that filled in 31 hours (back in the good old days).

I first started 10-11-2003. Coming up to 14 years. Did not see hockey get respect it deserved and 2016-17 players still have not been released.

MLeafs, I am cutting back too. Sick of this outfit taking my money and never doing a thing to make this more interesting... also sick of finishing in the top five and not making it to round 2. Been here for over 13 years. Idle for about 4, just did exh hockey. I might go back to work (just for fun) and at least I get something for the time spent

Ahh. Well, quitting won't make them improve it. I've always thought that nhl.com should buy it and make it part of their site.
