what is the highest rated recruit signed by a d3. Is it possible to sign 2 and 3 star recruits? Top 200 overall? I'm hoping my Concordia team in Allen will start making some noise next year.

You need to recruit WAY more athleticism and defense for that team. Top D3 teams have 55-65 TEAM ath and def these days. Guys like Newman are highly rated but unless he's green in both ath and def he's going to be useless for that team.

Strictly speaking, with 3.0, I don't think anyone is "out of reach," even for DIII. Someone -- I don't remember who -- had a list of the thresholds. Just as general advice, look for players who have some fatal flaw, something that will keep DI coaches away but still make the player very good for you. Maybe a low WE. Or red defense. Little offensive potential. Something like that.

rankings are filler. Both of these guys were recruited at the same time, both D1 prospects.
