I've never denied that people thought Hunter was great during his career. My argument is that he wasn't actually great. They were wrong.
Baseball people were wrong. And you're right because of Microsoft Excel and your magic numbers.
That's a pretty convincing argument.

Yes, I do. I saw him pitch. On television, and in person. I saw his legacy WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING. I read in the newspapers and in the Sporting News, and listened to the commentary on him during televised games while he was an active player. I understand his place in baseball history. I understand why he's in the Hall of Fame.
I'm not looking at stats 40 years later and thinking "Geez, he was no better than Brad ******* Radke", and ignoring all the context around him. Only a special kind of idiot would do that.
Do you know anybody who is that special kind of idiot?
