I've never denied that people thought Hunter was great during his career. My argument is that he wasn't actually great. They were wrong.

And please explain, once again, the relative value of 2000 Brad Radke versus 2016 Max Scherzer, for the benefit of anybody who missed that pearl of your wisdom.

Baseball people were wrong. And you're right because of Microsoft Excel and your magic numbers.

That's a pretty convincing argument.

The entire baseball world was wrong about Catfish Hunter. Oh, ok. Case closed.

Do you have even the slightest inkling how stupid this makes you look? You're saying that virtually every person in baseball in the 70s, the ones making roster decisions, were clueless while you, still shitting in your diapers in the 70s, know better,

That's a new level of retard. Congrats, it took you less than half of 2017 to set a new bar.

BL has no self-awareness, as we've known for quite some time.

So, no. He has no idea how stupid that makes him look.

He's young. He doesn't remember things like the second half of 78 when the Yankees caught the Sox. It's all in the spreadsheet with him. It's too bad.

Yes, I do. I saw him pitch. On television, and in person. I saw his legacy WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING. I read in the newspapers and in the Sporting News, and listened to the commentary on him during televised games while he was an active player. I understand his place in baseball history. I understand why he's in the Hall of Fame.

I'm not looking at stats 40 years later and thinking "Geez, he was no better than Brad ******* Radke", and ignoring all the context around him. Only a special kind of idiot would do that.

Do you know anybody who is that special kind of idiot?

A lot of players aspire to get in the Hall of Fame. Did he do that?
