Stadiums

Obviously I had not expressed clearly my intentions regarding stadiums. There were only 16 teams in existence in both 1921 and 1951, in the same cities. Four teams had moved stadiums from 1921 to 1951. which would initially lead one to believe there were 20 stadiums available, but 3 stadiums (Polo Grounds IV, Sportsman's Park III and Shibe Park) were shared by 2 teams in one or both season's, so restricting stadiums to 1921 and 1951 would only have 17 stadiums available whereas we will have 24 teams.

The first time major league baseball had 24 teams was in 1969, so it was my original intent to make available all stadiums that existed in 1921, 1951 and 1969. As mentioned, there were 17 stadiums in use in 1921 and 1951. There were 9 stadiums in 1969 resulting from either new stadiums in the same city as an existing team (3), or new stadiums into which existing teams had moved and there were 8 stadiums in 1969 resulting from expansion teams between 1962 and 1969 (I have included the Milwaukee Brewers 1970 stadium because the Short lived Seattle Pilots franchise moved to Milwaukee after the 1969 season).

This makes 34 stadiums (stadiums in red bold face have been taken) available as shown in the following table:

Knowing that there are 17 additional stadiums available, anyone who wishes to change stadiums may do so. Please post your change in stadium below. I will also site mail everyone regarding the additional stadiums available. However, please post any change in stadium below rather than site mailing me so that everyone can see any changes made. I will try to update the list of stadiums taken as quickly as possible after any change.

That would give us 2 Washington DC teams in the same league- would prefer a different selection.
